Best Team Won
Linton Granta 4 - 0 Ely City A
It won't be surprising to hear that Ely went to Linton short of a few players. The reserves were able to spare Mauro Cabral, manager Stuart Rollings put on the gloves and an injured Adam Gayfer dragged himself along to help out. Jamie Absalom made his second appearance.
The pitch was still a little crispy from the mornings snow but the rest was thick mud.
Ely were on the back foot from the start, and stuart was kept busy in the Ely goal. Linton had most of the possession and used it well. It wasn't long before they had got their first goal.
An unfit Luke Fretwell put extra pressure on Ely by being unable to keep up with play. He was pushed up front and Gareth Arter went to center back. Then Adam Scott was injured not long after but continued to play. Half time score was only 2-0 but Ely were running out of ideas.
Not much excitement came of the second half. Injured Adam Scott was replaced by the 'not as' injured Adam Gayfer, who played right back. Jamie Gayfer dropped to center back and Anthony Brumby filled his position in the center of the park. The game finished 4-0 but Ely was let off lightly.
