Disappointing Result : Ely City Football Club A-Team

Ely were struggling to get a side together again this week with more players injured or away. But were able to get a side good enough to beat a bottom of the league team.

The game was not an impressive display of football. Cottenham started the scoring when a stretched Anthony Brumby's header fell to the Cottenham's winger who fooled keeper Andrew Smart with a miss kick.

Things were looking up early in the second half when Jamie Linney curled in a lob from not the easiest of angles.

Cottenham were gifted their second when their left winger managed to ride a couple of tackles to find himself one on one with Smarty.

Ely need to start getting some points before they find themselves in the danger zone. Hopefully new signings will help.
