A Couple of Bad Mistakes : Ely City Football Club A-Team

First evening game of 2010 and Ely were hoping for that performance that will bring us out of the rut. The return of Stephen pollard was our ray of sunshine.

It looked promising when Ely took the lead with one of Jamie Gayfers trademark lobs. Ely continued to dominate the first half. Even though they had been severly let down by the quality of the officiating. Several players were dished out cautions. Ely went in at half time in the lead but very frustrated.

The second half although not as impresssive was still a good performance. Unfortunately, a scrappy corner, an own goal deflection and a mix up between defender and keeper saw Ely go down by three goals.

Ely played well but the game will be remembered by the poor performance of the referee.
